Share

Purchasing shares in a company buys you part ownership of that company. You're given the right to vote on who manages the company and receive a portion of company profits through the distribution of dividends.

Example: If a share price quote is $25, then that means one share is valued at $25.

Note: Shares are also referred to as stocks, equities and securities.

CFD

Is an abbreviation for "Contract for Difference". A CFD is a 'derivative' that is derived from the underlying value of the share price. A CFD’s allow you to go long (buy the CFD) or go short (sell the CFD).

CFD's give you leverage.

Example: Buying a CFD in XYZ provides you with an opportunity to purchase the shares at a variable rates such as 10 to 1 ratio instead of the full upfront share value cost i.e. paying $1,000 instead of $10,000.

Because CFDs are traded on margin, you must maintain the minimum margin level at all times.

Note: CFD’s are not recommended for novice traders.

General Overview

About Armour Energy

Highlights
  • 100% ownership of large net acreage position – covers a province of 33 million acres
  • 41.3 trillion cubic feet and 2.2 billion barrels Prospect Resource in northern Australia
  • Close to infrastructure with commercialisation opportunities – over 400 petajoules per annum
  • Gas demand for Queensland LNG plants to double in next three years
  • Existing gas shows and flows, proven hydrocarbon system and strong liquids potential
  • Proactive stakeholder engagement and low social impact
  • Proven Board and management team

Armour Energy is focused on the discovery and development of world class gas and associated liquids resources in northern Australia.

Armour Energy enjoys 100% ownership of a strategic tenure position in northern Australia, covering approximately 33 million contiguous acres in the Northern Territory and Queensland.

Armour Energy has one of the largest shale gas acreage positions in Australia. The 100% ownership interests across permits in Northern Australia provide the Company with flexibility in terms of timing and approach to exploration and any subsequent development of delineated oil and gas reserves.

Strategic Investment In Lakes Oil

To complement Armour Energy's prospective areas in Northern Australia, the Company made a strategic investment in ASX-listed Lakes Oil, an oil and gas explorer focused on the Otway and Gippsland Basins in Victoria, and entered an agreement to earn a 51% interest in two tenements (PEP166 and PEP169) held by Lakes Oil and a third option to acquire 50% of Lakes Oil's interest in a third tenement (PRL12).

Close To Market, Infrastructure and The Coast

Armour Energy's tenements are strategically located close to existing infrastructure - large scale regional market opportunities and existing pipelines with access to LNG infrastructure and the coastal position opens export market options.

Strong Track Record

The Board of Armour Energy includes three past Directors of Arrow Energy, and the same expansive approach to exploration and development that drove Arrow's evolution is planned for Armour Energy. Armour Energy's technical team includes a range of industry experts and seasoned professionals from North America and Australia, who have been selected to support the Board in the goal to build Armour Energy into a significant gas exploration and development company.

Armour Energy is implementing an active work program across Northern Territory, Queensland and Victoria to define gas and liquids resources.

Maintaining control of 100% of a provincial tenure position, a growing domestic and global demand for gas, new shale extractive technologies and experienced personnel provides Armour Energy with an extraordinary opportunity to define and ultimately develop a new liquids rich gas province in Australia.

Projects

Queensland

Armour Energy has been granted ATP1087 and is preferred tenderer on ATP1107 in North West Queensland. The tenements cover approximately 3.6 million acres and encompass the south Nicholson Basin and underlying Isa Super basin which extends westward into the Company's Northern Territory applications.

The target Lawn Hill Shale within these tenements contains a thick, organic-rich source rock section showing up to 8% gas recorded in mud logs during drilling of four petroleum exploration wells by Comalco in the early 1990s. These wells in conjunction with substantial seismic data delineate an immediate Lawn Hill Shale exploration target area of approximately 1400 km² within the eastern area of ATP1087. A gas exploration fairway of an additional 6000 km² extends to the west across ATP1087 and south into ATP1107.

Armour Energy's Independent Experts have previously assessed 22.5 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of Mean Prospective Resource (gas) in the middle Proterozoic aged Lawn Hill Shale in ATP1087. Additional gas prospectivity has now also been identified by Armour Energy in the underlying Riversleigh Shale that extends across the entire tenement.

Armour plans to commence drilling at ATP1087 in late April 2013. These will be located on pre-existing seismic lines. During the 2013 drilling campaign Armour Energy proposes to drill three vertical wells and one lateral well targeting the Lawn Hill Shale. The first well is proposed in the eastern area of ATP1087 adjacent to the Egilabria 1 well which recorded up to 8% gas (390 gas units) on mud logs during drilling in 1992. The existing seismic dataset is currently being reprocessed using new geophysical techniques. This data will be reinterpreted, the results of which will influence the positioning of further seismic surveys.

The primary target for Armour Energy's aggressive drilling program over the next three years is to define up to 9 Tcf of gas resources and reserves from the Lawn Hill Shale Play in the eastern area of ATP1087. This is a sufficient gas volume to supply a 6 million tonne per annum Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project for a period of 25 years.

Should the drilling programme prove up the existence of a Riversleigh Shale Gas Play then the total potential for gas from the area will increase significantly and in combination with the Lawn Hill Shale Gas play create a regionally pervasive, stacked and continuous gas charged shale play.

There is potential for a stratigraphic pinch-out play around paleo-highs within porous and permeable sandstone reservoirs in the basal Mesozoic section. These sands may be charged by gas and/or oil sourced from the target Proterozoic shales. Overlying Carpentaria Basin shales are expected to provide a competent and extensive top seal, and the pinch-out edge against the Proterozoic paleo-highs are expected to provide a lateral seal.

Northern Territory

Eighteen Conventional Targets Identified with 314PJ Risked, Prospective Resources

Armour has delineated a series of eighteen (18) conventional gas prospects holding 314PJ of risked, prospective resources in the Coxco Dolomite of the Teena Formation, a conventional, free-flowing reservoir in the Batten Trough, McArthur Basin. These conventional gas accumulations, discovered by Armour in the course of drilling the Glyde 1 ST1 lateral well in August 2012, occur within the porous and permeable dolomites of the Coxco Dolomite.

The permeability in the Coxco Dolomite is believed to be formed by structural brecciation and fracturing along the Emu and Tawallah Faults, together with talus or scree breccias occuring adjacent to faults and areas of solution brecciation in contact with the organic rich shale source rock of the Middle Proterozoic, Barney Creek Formation.

The geology of the Coxco targets has been defined by surface mapping and preliminary data from extensive airborne gravity and magnetic surveys recently completed by the Company over the Glyde and Myrtle Sub Basin regions. Additional targets are likely to be defined following completion of the Fugro interpretation of this gravity, magnetic and geological data and integration with other ongoing and parallel structural studies. Recently, Fugro's techniques were able to assist operators in the Canning Basin to make substantial hydrocarbon discoveries. Like them, Armour anticipates these interpretations will provide additional drilling targets and high-grade areas to strategically locate further 2-D seismic and magnetotelluric surveys.

The targets for the Coxco Dolomite in EPs 171, 176 and 190 within the Batten Trough are located in the Glyde Sub Basin, the Myrtle Sub Basin to the south of McArthur River Mine, and to the north in the Caranbirini area. These targets are based on further surface geological studies and the extensive geophysical survey (magnetics and gravity) indicating targets with the same geophysical and geological characteristics as the gas accumulation discovered by Armour in the Glyde 1 ST 1 well. This update includes areas previously highlighted with 130BCF of mean prospective conventional resources estimated (now superseded) for the Glyde Sub-Basin based on the Glyde 1 ST1 well.

These conventional targets have an average depth of 1,200 metres and vary in size from 6PJ to 43PJ and combine to a total of 314PJ of risked, prospective resources. Modelling based on the Glyde 1 ST1 flow and buildup test data indicates these targets should be free flowing.

Based on realistic risking applied for discovery and development, drilling of 21 wells across these targets has the potential to generate a 2C Contingent Resource of 314PJ of gas. This outcome would double the previously announced mean prospective resource of 130BCF (156PJ) for the Glyde Sub Basin in the southern Batten Trough, containing the Glyde 1 ST1 discovery well. A feasibility study will be undertaken to confirm the viability of and market for produced gas, in order to complete conditions precedent of a potential contract to convert this to 314PJ to 2P Reserves.

Armour continues to investigate numerous market opportunities in the area.

Armour is currently preparing to intensify its programme in the Batten Trough with the aim of defining reserves quickly. Armour is presently assessing existing seismic data on an east-to-west line in the northern section of the Batten Trough and with a view to early definition of additional gas exploration prospects. In addition, Armour plans to identify additional conventional gas targets to the east and north within the Batten Trough in the recently granted EP 174 and EP 190 permits, where similar geological structures and petroleum source rocks exist. Further analyses and additional geophysical surveys will follow the results of exploration drilling at Caranbirini, Cat Fish Hole and Myrtle Sub Basin and are likely to lead to further upgrading of the Company's gas resource outlook in the Northern Territory.

Continuing Focus on Extensive Unconventional Gas Resources

Armour also continues to focus on its extensive unconventional naturally-fractured and shale gas accumulations in the Batten Trough with a current mean prospective resource of 18.7TCF estimated within the Lynott, Reward and Barney Creek Formations.

Armour has previously reported discoveries of unconventional gas accumulations in the Lynott and Reward Formations at the Greater Cow Lagoon Structure of 100.4BCF (120PJ), located north of the McArthur River Mine. Further unconventional resources are expected at the Ryan's Bend, Looking Glass and Batten Creek targets to the west of the Greater Cow Lagoon Structure.

The gas discovery in the Barney Creek Formation at the Glyde 1 vertical well substantiates MBA Petroleum Consultants' estimate of a mean prospective resource of 18.6TCF in the Barney Creek Shale within EP 171 and EP 176. A P90 (or 90% probability level) of 3.6TCF recoverable gas resource was assessed by MBA Petroleum Consultants for this same area.

As with the Cow Lagoon 1, Glyde 1 and Glyde 1 ST1 wells, Armour will continue to gather extensive data to further substantiate the unconventional resource potential of the Barney Creek Formation. Several studies are underway on the Barney Creek Formation samples and log data from Cow Lagoon 1, Glyde 1, and Glyde 1 ST1 wells that will aid further targeting of a future lateral well with fracture stimulation in the Barney Creek Formation. As with the Glyde 1 and Glyde 1 ST1 wells, this lateral drilling prospect will likely be performed in conjunction with a vertical well exploring the underlying Coxco Dolomite.

Victoria

Lakes Oil Strategic Investment

To complement Armour Energy's prospective areas in Northern Australia, the Company made a strategic investment in Lakes Oil, an oil and gas explorer focused on the Otway and Gippsland Basins, Victoria and entered agreements on three key projects:

  • PEP166 in the Onshore Gippsland Basin where, in addition to its stake in Lakes, Armour holds a 25% interest and a right to earn up to 51% by drilling an additional well or, alternatively, expending $4.75 million on exploration. The main target within PEP166 is the extensive gas resources reservoired in the Strzelecki Group and oil in the Rintoul Creek Sandstone;
  • PRL2 in the Onshore Gippsland Basin where, over the next 2 years (or potentially longer, depending upon extensions resulting from regulatory delays), Armour has options to acquire in its own right half of Lakes' project interest in the Trifon and Gangell blocks within PRL2 and a 25% interest in the balance of PRL2. Alternatively, Armour may match Beach Petroleum's farm-in agreement on PRL2 under certain conditions; and
  • PEP169 in the Otway Basin where Armour holds a direct 51% interest. PEP169 hosts the 2012 Moreys 1 gas and condensate discovery and the promising Otway 1 target.

Armour and Lakes are targeting gas and oil discoveries in the onshore sections of the Gippsland Basin, predominantly in the Strzelecki Group and the Rintoul Creek Sandstone. Armour and Lakes believe the bulk of the Gippsland Basin's oil and gas reserves which form the basis for BHP and Esso's massive offshore production activities are at least partially derived from the Rintoul Creek Sandstone and that the Rintouls Creek Sandstone offers significant onshore oil potential to Lakes and Armour.

The sands and shales of the Strzelecki Group are highly prospective in Lakes' tenements. Initial flows in the Wombat field have flowed up to 4.5 million cubic feet per day from the Strzelecki Group. Live oil flowed from a natural fracture in Wombat 3 believed to be sourced from Rintoul Creek Sandstone from a deep source beneath the total depth of the well.

Lakes has outlined some 1.68 trillion cubic feet of contingent resources in the Strzelecki Group in PRL21 and is targeting further resources on resumption of exploration work in the area. Work programmes in this area are presently delayed due to a Victorian fraccing moratorium and finalisation of Beach Petroleum's farm-in activity, if any.

Gas resources of PRL2 and other targets are well placed for sale within Victoria, for power generation or industrial uses. The projects are surrounded by existing infrastructure including gas pipelines and power stations.

The main target structure in PEP166 is the Baragwanath Anticline which extends for 70 kilometres east-west from west of the Yallourn Power Station in the west to Boundary Creek, east of the Longford gas plant in PRL2 in the east. The structure is believed to host potentially large and extensive gas resources in the Strzelecki Group and potential oil accumulations in the Rintoul Creek Sandstone.

Armour believes that access to advanced fraccing and well stimulation and drilling techniques and the experience of its technical team will contribute to early achievement of commercial gas and oil flows from the onshore section of the Strzelecki Group.

Armour is participating at the current 51% level in the drilling of Otway 1 well in PEP169 north of Port Campbell in western Victoria. Drilling of the well is currently scheduled for early March 2013. The well, located beside Origin's Iona Gas plant, is targeting commercial gas flows from the Waarre Sandstone and Eumeralla Formation.
