Listening to customers and developing a deep empathy for clinicians is at the core of their approach. They then apply what they have learned to develop world class health informatics systems that make healthcare professionals’ lives less stressful and patient’s encounters with the healthcare system safer. Alcidion believe that healthcare professionals shouldn’t need to invest hours of time learning how to use complex clinical software, or to spend their precious minutes on repetitive administrative tasks so they design their software for maximum productivity. This allows doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to spend more time with their patients and less time on data entry.

It may sound easy, but developing products that answer this question is difficult.  Hospitals are built on a varied mix of information systems, clinical workflows are deceptively complex and vary greatly based on each patient’s individual problems – and that’s before you consider changes to medical evidence and regulations.  Despite these challenges, we’ve been improving the working lives of clinicians and the care of their patients since 2000 and have learned what works and what doesn’t.
