Share

Purchasing shares in a company buys you part ownership of that company. You're given the right to vote on who manages the company and receive a portion of company profits through the distribution of dividends.

Example: If a share price quote is $25, then that means one share is valued at $25.

Note: Shares are also referred to as stocks, equities and securities.

CFD

Is an abbreviation for "Contract for Difference". A CFD is a 'derivative' that is derived from the underlying value of the share price. A CFD’s allow you to go long (buy the CFD) or go short (sell the CFD).

CFD's give you leverage.

Example: Buying a CFD in XYZ provides you with an opportunity to purchase the shares at a variable rates such as 10 to 1 ratio instead of the full upfront share value cost i.e. paying $1,000 instead of $10,000.

Because CFDs are traded on margin, you must maintain the minimum margin level at all times.

Note: CFD’s are not recommended for novice traders.

General Overview

About Bassari Resources Limited

Bassari Resources Limited is an Australian listed company focused on discovering multimillion ounce gold deposits in the Birimian gold belt in Senegal, West Africa. We have selected Senegal primarily for what we believe is the great potential of its under explored Birimian greenstone gold belt which extends into the bordering countries of Mali and Guinea.

The Bassari permits are contiguous and cover a large area of over 850 km2, located in the Birimian belt. The permits are centrally located, and in close proximity to discoveries of major gold deposits, including Sadiola (13.5 million oz), Yatela (2.0 million oz), Loulo (11.35 million oz), Gounkoto (5.5 million oz), Massawa (3.4 million oz) and Sabodala (3.5 million oz) and Oromin at Sabodala (3.3 million oz).

In addition to these proven deposits other major exploration companies such as Etruscan Resources Inc and Avion Gold Corp have reported gold discoveries in permit areas immediately to the North and East of the Bassari permit areas.

The prospectivity of Bassari's 3 gold permits (Moura, Sambarabougou and Bounsankoba) is enhanced by previous significant exploration funding by government and exploration groups, such as the United Nations, the French Government (BRGM) and a number of private exploration companies and more recently by Bassari Resources Senegal S.A.R.L. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Bassari Resources Limited).

Bassari's primary objective is to further progress exploration and resource definition within the permit areas in order to identify multimillion ounce gold deposits. Bassari has already made a gold discovery at Makabingui (543,000 ounces) in its Sambarabougou permit.

Both the Bassari executive and exploration teams have a wealth of experience and success working in Senegal and West Africa.

Projects

Makabingui Gold Project

BSRThe Makabingui Gold Project in Senegal is the Company's most advanced project. They have completed a feasibility study for Makabingui which returned outstanding results, the most notable being an average gold grade of >5.6 g/t (up to 7.9g/t), C1 cash costs of US$683/oz, capital cost of $12.1 million and an IRR of 404%.

Makabingui currently hosts a Mineral Resource which comprises 11.9 million tonnes averaging 2.6 g/t gold for a contained

1 million ounces of gold. They recently announced a maiden ore reserve of 158,000 ounces in 860,000 tonnes at 5.7g/t Gold, while an underground scoping study completed in September 2014 returned high-grade gold results of 7g/t gold for ~120,000 ounces in high-grade underground scope targets.

Full Project Study summary at US$1200/oz gold price:

  • Production (recovered gold) - 171,000 ounces
  • Average annual gold production - 50,000 ounces
  • Average gold grade to the mill - >5.6 g/t gold
  • High processing recovery - 95%
  • Processing rate - 300ktpa
  • Initial project mine life - 3.4 years
  • Cash Cost (C1) - US$683/oz
  • Low additional capital - US$12M
  • NPV (8% discount rate) - US$63M
  • IRR - 404%
  • Pre-capex free cash flow (after tax) - US$88M
  • Payback from production start - <12 months

The Company has confirmed its development team for Makabingui and announced a strategic alliance with Chinese sourcing and procurement firm Vanture International for the supply of processing equipment.

An Environmental & Social Impact Study for the project is being reviewed by government and an application to convert the exploration permit to a mining production permit has been lodged with the government of Senegal.

They have been able to keep capital costs low at Makabingui through the use of existing infrastructure and equipment in Senegal, all owned by Bassari. They have an existing gravity plant which will be upgraded to treat hard rock ore from Makabingui, a water dam to supply water to the processing plant, an established camp to accommodate employees and mobile equipment which will be used during the construction period as well as supporting operations.

Operations will commence mining high grade open pits where mineralisation starts at surface. The high grade ore will be trucked to the processing plant which is capable of extracting gold from both gravity and CIL processes. They are confident in the high metallurgical recoveries of 95%, due to the comprehensive metallurgical program undertaken from an early stage in the resource drilling program.

Underground Scoping Study

BSRAn Underground Scoping Study has been undertaken providing an assessment of the potential for an underground development phase for the Makabingui Gold Project within the one million ounce gold resource. Underground development would commence on Completion of Pit 1 mining operations and utilise existing infrastructure and 300ktpa processing plant factored into the Open Pit Feasibility Study for the development of four high grade open pits.

Makabingui High Grade Underground Scoping Study highlights at US$1200/oz gold price:

  • Mined ounces - 120,000 ounces (additional to open pits)
  • Average gold grade to the mill - >7.0 g/t gold
  • Mine life extension - ~2.5 years
  • Estimated Revenue - US$144M
  • Estimated OPEX - US$56M
  • Estimated CAPEX - US$35M
  • Processing recovery - 95%
  • Cut-off-grade - 3g/t gold

The pit designs for Pit 1, developed as part of the initial mining phase of the Makabingui Gold Project, have been used for the preliminary Underground Scoping Study. The underground analysis only uses the Inferred Resources within the vicinity of Pit 1 (see Figure 1 & 2).

The Makabingui gold resource at depth comprises steep mineralised zones dipping to the south east and striking NNE. The following parameters have been used to generate optimised stope shape designs within the mineralised lodes:

  • Minimum mining width (horizontal) - 2 metres
  • Stope height - 20 metres
  • Stope length - 10 metres
  • Stope dilution (on both footwall and hangingwall) - 0.3 metres
  • Minimum pillar between adjoining stopes (between lodes) - 10 metres
  • Cut-off-grade - 3g/t gold

The Pit 1 design, prepared as part of the Open Pit Feasibility Study, was used to locate the portal. The underground design used the following parameters:

  • Decline size 5 metres wide by 5.5 metres high at a gradient of 1 in 7 - 2,120 metres
  • Lateral access of 5 metres wide by 5 metres high and flat - 3,740 metres
  • Mineralised lode development of 4.5 metres wide by 4.5 metres high and flat - 3,360 metres
  • Interval between levels - 20 metres
  • Ventilation development - 734 metres

Underground development would commence on completion of Pit 1 mining operations and utilise existing infrastructure and 300ktpa processing plant factored into the Open Pit Feasibility Study for the development of four high grade open pits.

Permits

Moura Permit

BSR

The Moura permit covers a very prospective part of the Diale Formation of the Birimian Belt adjacent to the Senegal Mali Shear Zone (SMSZ) which hosts the large Loulo and Sadiola gold operations in nearby Mali.

Moura has been subject to exploration by the United Nations, the French Government (BRGM) and a number of private mining groups, including Bassari Resources Senegal. BRGM had identified 30 gold anomalies for follow up exploration. All of these anomalies have been located by Bassari Resources Senegal and a detailed geochemical sampling program completed. Infill sampling by Bassari Resources Senegal geologists has identified at least 7 extensive NE-SW trending anomalous zones, centred around Kawsara and Kawsara North (5 km strike length), Benajiggi (4 km long), Konkoutou (2 km long), Yoroya (1.5 km long and open to the north), Sambali and Bountou.

Moura is considerd a a highly prospective permit for detailed exploration.

Konkoutou

At the Konkoutou prospect, trenching by UNDP (Soviet) geologists discovered 10 small isolated auriferous zones. Follow up sampling by the Bassari geologists confirmed the prospectivity of the area.

Bassari's geologists logged and sampled 49 pits. All of the pits exposed quartz veins and quartz stock works. The abundance of pits allowed five profiles to be selected and constructed across the Konkoutou Hill and valleys to the east and west. Significant gold mineralisation was located in all five pit profiles. The mineralised zones suggested there could be a major east-dipping shear zone developed within the Konkoutou prospect. This zone was evaluated by RAB geochemical drilling and returned 20m @ 1.7 g/t Au. Konkoutou is a priority drilling target for Bassari.

Exploration drilling has returned high-grade intercepts from diamond drill hole DDM004 on Section L214750E (Figure 1). The results include 2m @ 20.9 g/t gold from 164 metres and 2m @ 10.9 g/t gold from 173 metres. The new results confirm continuity of mineralisation, which remains open at depth.

Previous significant drilling results returned from diamond drill hole DDM003 on Section L214950E where visible gold was identified in drill core include 9m @ 11.5 g/t Au from 161 m including 3m @ 33.9 g/t Au from 162m and 3m @ 3.9 g/t Au from 101m including 1m @ 10.2 g/t Au from 102m.

To date drilling has intersected gold mineralisation over a strike length of some 600 metres.

A total of 3240 metres in 40 RC holes and 1082 metres in 5 DD holes have been completed in the 2011/2012 drilling programs.

Konkoutou North Prospect

The Konkoutou North prospect (approximately 2km north of Konkoutou) comprises a low hill made up of massive and locally brecciated milky quartz veins. The best results from trenching work (quartz vein channels) by UNDP geologists were 75 g/t Au and 110 g/t Au over widths of 0.5 metres. These high-grade results have been reconfirmed by Bassari geologists.

Konkoutou East Prospect

Located 2.5km east of Benajiggi, the Konkoutou East prospect is defined by soil geochemistry over a 0.5km strike. Gold-in-soil values above the 25ppb contour peak above 600ppb. Yoroya is a RAB and RC drilling target.

Kawsara & Kawsara North

Kawsara is located 3km north of Yoroya. Kawsara and Kawsara North prospects define a NE trending zone of strong soil geochemistry over a strike of some 5km. Gold-in-soil values peaks above 800ppb. Trenching by Bassari has concentrated on a zone over a strike length of 800m and values returned included 3m @ 3.4 g/t Au, 2m @ 5.5 g/t Au, 5m @ 5.7 g/t Au and 3m @ 3.4 g/t Au. Kawsara is an RC drilling target.

Sambarabougou Permit

The Sambarabougou permit is located within the Palaeoproterozoic Birimian volcano-sedimentary sequences and the intrusives of the Diale Formation. Early-stage exploration near the southern margin of a small syntectonic granite, the Sambarabougou Granite, led to the discovery of the Makabingui gold deposit , which comprises a large number (>30) of generally shallow east dipping lodes and quartz veins hosted by a gabbroic intrusive and contact metasediments. This structural setting is deemed highly prospective by Bassari geologists and east of Makabingui, the Missara prospect, which is also associated with another small tectonic granite and the EW structure, awaits geochemical drilling. To the north of the Sambarabougou Granite, dilational structures are apparent and identified by strong gold-in-soil and termite results. This area, termed the Makabingui North prospect, is progressing with Bassari completing initial RAB and RC drilling.

Sambarabougou contains the NE trending structural zone termed the Lafia Shear Zone which is situated both to the NE and SW of Makabingui. In the Sambarabougou permit the mineralised Lafia Shear Zone has already been defined by RAB and RC drilling. Exploration results from 400m spaced lines over a 6km strike length include 8m @ 1.4 g/t Au, 2m @ 11.4 g/t Au, 3m @ 2.1 g/t Au, 5m @ 1.3 g/t Au, 4m @ 2.0 g/t A, 3m @ 1.8 g/t Au and 5m @ 2.0 g/t Au.

Sambarabougou also contains the alluvial gold area of Douta.

Makabingui South

Bassari is also exploring a major gold corridor immediately south of Makabingui. Previous shallow drilling and recent artisanal mining has confirmed widespread gold mineralisation in this area.

Makabingui South is along strike from the Makabingui Gold Project which has returned outstanding feasibility results. Makabingui South is defined by highly anomalous soil and termite mound gold anomalies and significant gold intercepts returned from previous wide spaced RAB & RC drilling (~400 metre spaced lines). Structural interpretation indicates the presence of a major mineralised gold corridor. As well as alluvial gold artisanal's have previously mined quartz lode hosted gold mineralisation in the weathered bedrock.

Previous artisanal activity within the Makabingui Gold Project area south of the existing resource has identified potential for multiple new areas of mineralisation within a regional NE trending shear zone (Main Transcurrent Zone – MTZ).

Within the overall prospect area gold mineralisation is expected to occur within dilational sites that formed in local perturbations along the recognised cross-cut faults during structural reactivation. Bassari has identified three priority infill drilling areas south of the existing gold resource MS1, MS2 and MS3.

The MTZ is viewed as a long acting and wide zone of crustal deformation which acts as a primary regional and crustal scale control for the existing gold deposits and gold mines in Mali and Senegal. Previous soil and termite mound sampling results clearly indicate highly anomalous gold mineralisation along the length of the MTZ regarded as one of the primary controls of gold mineralisation.

Lafia

Lafia is 21km along strike from Sekhoto, where previous trenching intersected encouraging results. Drilling at Lafia intersected significant zones of quartz veining with gold mineralisation including 3m @ 3.3 g/t Au and 0.5m @ 0.4 g/t Au. These results support the model for Lafia to be a major fluid pathway where significant gold mineralisation is expected to be associated with secondary structures.

Bounsankoba Permit

The Bounsankoba permit is south of the Sambarabougou permit. Previous exploration completed by Hansa Geomin Consulting (HGMC) included geological mapping, soil geochemistry, geophysics (airborne and ground surveys) and saprolite geochemistry using an auger drill rig.

Underlying geology comprises metasediments of the Diale Formation. Outcrop is sparse as the majority of the area is obscured by ferricrete plateaux. The permit covers part of the MTZ which has been named by Bassari within its permits as the Lafia Shear Zone. Artisanal gold workings focus on alluvial deposits shedding the Lafia Shear Zone area.

Sekhoto

The Sekhoto prospect in the southern part of Bounsankoba permit was defined by soil and termite geochemistry mainly with an erosional window through the ferricrete duricrust. Sekhoto comprises quartz lodes within sheared and altered metasediments so far defined over a strike length of some 800m. Geochemical sampling and geological mapping supported by trenching and RAB geochemical drilling has returned results including 17.9 g/t Au from rock chip, 2m @ 52.4 g/t Au from trenching and 10m @ 3.6 g/t Au from RAB drilling. RC drilling is proposed to advance this prospect.

Massa Massa

Located within the Lafia Shear Zone towards the northern part of the Bounsankoba permit area, Massa Massa comprises a zone of strong termite geochemistry. A trench completed by Bassari at Massa Massa returned 2m @ 11.2 g/t Au. RAB geochemical drilling is proposed as initial follow up. Further encouraging results would warrant RC drilling.
