Amazon Bay Project
Amazon Bay is a 180km x 10km x 10m exploration target containing 3 – 4 bnt of vanadium rich titanomagnetite ironsands. More than 200Mt of vanadium rich titanomagnetite concentrate grading 1.02% V205, 52.3% Fe, 17.3% Ti02, 3.5% Si02, and 1.8% Al203 could be extracted by screening, gravity and magnetic separation.
FOY Group owns 100% of Titan Mines Limited which has title to the tenements covering the Amazon Bay Project.
Location and Licenses
Amazon Bay is located approximately 270km southeast of Port Moresby and runs along the southern coastline of PNG east of Port Moresby for approximately 140 km. Approximately 100 km of this coastline comprises black sand beaches fronting coastal plains up to 8 km wide.
There are three exploration licences;
- Amazon Bay: Exploration Licence 1396 (389 km²) was granted on 20 December 2005, and has been renewed every two years. The current term expires on the 19 December 2015.
- Amazon Bay North: 2149 (590 km²) was granted on 25 September 2013.
- Maruta: 2281 (652 km²) was granted on 2 February 2014.
