Projects
Exploration - Tanzania
IMX's activities are focused on the highly prospective Nachingwea Property (IMX 85%, MMG 15%), a substantial land package (6.800km2) located in south-eastern Tanzania. The Nachingwea Property includes the Chilalo Graphite Project, the Kishugu Gold Prospect and the Ntaka Hill Nickel Sulphide Project.
Chilalo Graphite Project
The Chilalo Graphite Project is located in the north-eastern area of the Nachingwea Property, within the Mozambique belt, which is well known for hosting some of the world’s highest grade and coarse flake graphite deposits such as Syrah Resources Limited’s (ASX: SYR) Balama deposit and Magnis Resources’ Nachu Project. Chilalo is host to the high-grade Shimba deposit, with an existing Mineral Resource. IMX is committed to advancing the Chilalo project and commenced a Pre-feasibility Study in March 2015.
Kishugu Gold Prospect
The Kishugu Gold Prospect is an extensive, coherent gold-in-soil anomaly measuring 6km by 600m @ +10ppb with significantly higher values within the main trend (904ppb). Together with strong coincident IP anomalies and the presence of associated pathfinder elements such as As, Bi and Ag, the Kishugu Gold Prospect represents an outstanding target.
An initial soil sampling program that consisted of 168 sample points on a broad reconnaissance grid 400m x 200m identified a large anomaly that measured 4km x 5.5km. Within the broader anomaly, the soil sampling program returned peak gold values of 904ppb Au, 793ppb Au and 437ppb Au, with these high values defining a 2km linear trend. This 2km trend was significant on its own, particularly given that the gold concentrations are the equivalent of 0.9, 0.8 and 0.4 g/t. The figure below shows the geochemistry results from the first stage soil sampling program.
Ntaka Hill Nickel Project
The Ntaka Hill Nickel Project is located in the north-east area of the Nachingwea Property, in close proximity to key infrastructure, including access to a deep water port at Mtwara.Website Links
