Share

Purchasing shares in a company buys you part ownership of that company. You're given the right to vote on who manages the company and receive a portion of company profits through the distribution of dividends.

Example: If a share price quote is $25, then that means one share is valued at $25.

Note: Shares are also referred to as stocks, equities and securities.

CFD

Is an abbreviation for "Contract for Difference". A CFD is a 'derivative' that is derived from the underlying value of the share price. A CFD’s allow you to go long (buy the CFD) or go short (sell the CFD).

CFD's give you leverage.

Example: Buying a CFD in XYZ provides you with an opportunity to purchase the shares at a variable rates such as 10 to 1 ratio instead of the full upfront share value cost i.e. paying $1,000 instead of $10,000.

Because CFDs are traded on margin, you must maintain the minimum margin level at all times.

Note: CFD’s are not recommended for novice traders.

General Overview

About Korab Resources

Korab Resources Ltd is an international mining and exploration company listed on Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:KOR) and traded on ASX and Berlin Stock Exchange (BSE). Korab Resources' corporate strategy is to locate, acquire, advance and crystallise value from resources projects.

Korab group operates several development projects in Australia and overseas. It also operates several exploration projects in Western Australia and the Northern Territory (see below).

Strategy

Their corporate strategy is to locate, acquire, advance and crystallise value from resources projects.

KOR has a number of mining projects in advanced stages of development such as 3.3 million gold ounces and 16.3 million silver ounces Bobrikovo project, GeolSec rock phosphate project and 17 million tonne Winchester magnesium project. Korab also has a number of exploration projects.

Highlights

Over last 8 years Korab has acquired impressive portfolio of mineral assets:

  • Bobrikovo gold project with 3.3 million ounces of gold and 16.3 million ounces of silver
  • Winchester magnesium project with 17 million tonnes of high grade magnesite
  • Geolsec phosphate project with over million tonnes of phosphate
  • Nickel, copper and gold exploration projects at Batchelor project in the Northern Territory and at Ashburton Downs project in Western Australia.

Since listing, Korab has grown its gold inventory over 1,000% from 0.34 million ounces to 3.64 million ounces gold equivalent* and continues to explore and evaluate projects to increase its gold and silver resource.

Bobrikovo project with multimillion ounce gold and silver resource is located in Eastern Ukraine in an old mining region. Mineralisation starts at surface and is open at depth. Metallurgical tests have shown excellent recoveries.

Korab keeps tight control over expenditure and budgets with continued priority given to exploration, evaluation and development of their projects.

* includes 16.3 million ounces of silver converted to a gold equivalent using 1/65 ratio.

Environment

At Korab, they aim to minimise the environmental impact of their activities by ensuring that their staff always conforms to the appropriate regulations and follows the guidelines set by environmental protection bodies.

One of the Korab's projects (Winchester) contains a significant magnesium resource. Magnesium's primary use is in appliances, motor vehicles and airplane frames where its high strength combined with its light weight enables manufacturers to achieve considerable weight savings. Lowering of the vehicle's weight reduces its fuel consumption and leads to lower emissions of greenhouse gases.

Another of their projects (GEOLSEC) contains a phosphate rock deposit which will be developed (subject to receiving required permits and approvals) to supply environmentally-friendly organic fertiliser to the agricultural sector in the Northern Territory and beyond.

This will support further expansion of sustainable agriculture and organic farming in Australia and provide substantial ongoing benefits to the environment and the community. Because of the deposit’s location, its structure and its characteristics, the development of the GeolSec project should have a negligible environmental impact.

Projects

Ashburton Downs

Ashburton Downs is significant new copper complex in the Ashburton Basin just 20 km south of Paraburdoo. This project covers Green Elephant Complex comprising North Mount Elephant, Green Elephant, East Elephant and Mount Elephant. Green Elephant copper anomaly covers two square kilometers (2,000,000 square meters) with some 970,000 square meters of visible copper mineralisation and with multiple assays grading 5% to 20% copper.

Several trenches cut through the area averaged between 3% and 5% copper. Additional four trenches averaged greater than 5% copper. Mount Elephant assays returned up to 45% (450,000 ppm) copper. EM surveys show 2.5 km long conductor coinciding with high grade copper assays.

The setting and the mineralisation style of project bears close similarity with those of the Zambian copper belt where similar rock types host the copper mineralisation. Korab believes it is highly likely that their 5 copper anomalies, which cover an extensive area, form part of the same mineralised structure.

The extent of the mineralisation can only be determined following extensive drilling, however the initial, early stage exploration results highlight the potential for the project to be one of Australia’s most exciting copper prospects.

Korab is seeking expressions of interest regarding this project from potential joint venture partners.

Northern Territory

Rum Jungle Projects

Rum Jungle projects consist of Geolsec, Batchelor and Green Alligator projects. All projects are located approximately 70km south of the capital of the Northern Territory, Darwin. Projects are accessible by sealed highway and rail and have arguably the best logistics of any project in Australia.

Local infrastructure includes high-voltage power, piped gas, potable water and 30 minute driving distance to the suburbs of Darwin. The regional center of Batchelor is located less than 2km from Geolsec and Batchelor projects.

In addition to hosting two development ready projects (Winchester magnesium and Geolsec phosphate) Rum Jungle projects have great exploration potential with significant nickel, tin, copper, lead, zinc, vanadium, wolfram, antimony, phosphate and rare earths targets confirmed by drilling and sampling which are currently being followed up.

Winchester Magnesite Deposit

Batchelor project contains Winchester magnesite deposit which has an outlined JORC Code compliant resource of 16.6 million tonnes of 91%-pure magnesite (MgCO3). This project has been progressed to feasibility study stage. Korab recently executed a binding agreement with a well-known, respected partner who will assist Korab in development of this deposit..

Magnesium is the lightest of all metals used as the basis for constructional alloys. It is this property which entices automobile manufacturers to replace denser materials, not only steels, cast irons and copper base alloys but even aluminium alloys by magnesium based alloys. The requirement to reduce the weight of car components as a result in part of the introduction of legislation limiting emission has triggered renewed interest in magnesium. The growth rate over the next 10 years has been forecast to be 7% per annum.

NanoMag is a patented environmentally friendly process for the production and marketing of high strength, light weight magnesium sheet with nanometer microstructures for automotive, aerospace, military, biomedical and other applications. The process, developed in conjunction with the Department of Material Science & Engineering at the University of Michigan and under the sponsorship of the National Science Foundation, offers numerous advantages in material integrity and cost savings over any other product now available. The key to the NanoMag technology is its ability to create fine-grained strengthening of magnesium alloys at low cost. The net result is a stronger, more reliable, more formable and lighter weight magnesium sheet with properties similar to steel and with a comparable strength to density ratio as that of steel but at one-fourth the weight. Because of its lighter weight, substituting magnesium sheet for aluminum and other materials reduces vehicle fuel consumption. It also offers greater personal protection in military applications. In addition to military, automotive, aviation and aerospace applications NanoMag can be used as a base material for the manufacture of fuel cells and electronic products.

Furthermore, It is widely believed the new material will gain wide acceptance in the biomedical industry as temporary connecting pins and plates since magnesium dissolves in the body with no adverse effects. The density and strength of NanoMag material is more like human bone than virtually any other currently popular implant materials. Because of this, the process can be used to produce biodegradable implants for hard tissue.

Another new area of magnesium use is the rapidly developing field of superconductivity. Magnesium is a key element in magnesium diboride MgB2 which becomes superconductive at a temperature of 39K.

Another rapidly growing sector where magnesium is becoming preferred material is construction industry. Magnesium oxide (MgO) board has a density of around 0.8-1.1g/cm3 is easy to transport and install. It has intensity of impact resistance 2-3 times greater than wall of gypsum board and is about 10 times stronger than gyprock. MgO board can be glued-on, cut down, nailed, veneered, painted, sawn, planed, thin panels of the board can be easily cut by knife. Most importantly, it is flexible, fireproof, weather proof and breathable. It remains flameless at 1,200 degrees (non-flammability: GB8624 grade A), resistant to deformation in wet, and dry, hot and cold conditions, is a great sound insulator - sound loss through a 6mm thick board is - 29dB.

Geolsec Phosphate Rock Deposit

The Batchelor project also includes the GEOLSEC rock phosphate deposit. The deposit contains sections of high grade rock phosphate grading up to 39% P2O5. Geolsec project also contains several high grade phosphate anomalies tested by auger drilling which have surface expressions about 12 times larger than the size of Geolsec deposit (see map for details). These anomalies will be drill-tested using diamond and reverse circulation drilling with the aim of increasing the tonnage of phosphate rock available for sale and extending the life of the project. Phosphate rock project is located on a granted mining lease ML27362 held by Geolsec Phosphate Operations P/L (100% owned subsidiary of Korab). The project will have a negligible environmental footprint whilst providing benefits to the environment and community by contributing to the reduced use of soluble fertilisers.

Bobrikovo Project

Bobrikovo mine is located in Eastern Ukraine in the Luhansk (Lugansk) Province. Bobrikovo gold and silver project has a JORC Code compliant resource of 3.3 million ounces of gold and 16.3 million ounces of silver. In addition to the classified mineral resource Bobrikovo has a substantial exploration potential. The oxidised mineralisation of the Bobrikovo deposit begins at the surface and extends down to 40-50m. Fresh rock mineralisation occurs from the depth of 40-50m down to at least 3000m.

Bobrikovo has been mining and stockpiling oxide ore on a campaign basis and has commenced the development of the processing plant and other mine infrastructure. It is planned to develop the oxide and transition zones of the deposit as a simple open cut mine. Development of the fresh rock zone is anticipated to use a low-cost sub level caving method. Once the plant has been constructed, part of the mine output is planned to be processed into concentrate using low-cost gravity-based plant. Bobrikovo is targeting oxide zone operating costs around $500/oz. The company has received proposal to sell ore to a third party for processing through their metallurgical plant. The sale of ore will potentially allow the company to generate early cash flow without cash outlay and to build the processing plant using retained earnings from sale of ore.

Project is located within a large intra-continental Phanerozoic structure that extends from southern Europe east to Central Asia. This structure hosts several world-class gold mining operations including Muruntau, Vysokovoltnoe, and Bakirchic. The tenor and style of mineralisation at Bobrikovo is similar to 170 million ounce gold deposit at Muruntau in Uzbekistan and to multi million ounce Sukhoi Log deposit in Russia.

Bobrikovo deposit is located within a structure that strikes 11km by 2.5 km. The deposit occurs on the intersection of deep fault zones. Mineralisation is controlled by NW-NNW trending anticline hinge, and occurs as concordant and discordant quartz-carbonate tension veins and stockworks. Host rocks of the Nagolny Kryazh comprise two structural stages: the lower, Precambrian, and the upper, Phanerozoic. The lower structure comprises deformed sequence of gneisses and crystalline schists. Precambrian basement is overlapped by 3km- thick sedimentary rock sequence. Ore zone is 2.5-3 km long and 0.9 – 1km wide.

Metallurgy Tests Results

Independent test work by accredited laboratories has shown good recovery of gold from both primary and oxide ores using variety of methods including gravity, cyanidation and heap leach. The summary of test results is included below:

  • Hydrocyclone extraction recovery 72-79%
  • Gravitational extraction recovery 62%
  • Gravitational concentrate recovery 46-81% (average 60%) tail cyanidation recovery 90%. Total extraction after gravitation and cyanidation 94-98%
  • Cyanide leaching of test sample of 10k tons of ore recovery: 92,03%
  • Heap leaching recovery 92%
  • Concentrate obtained by KNELSON thickener recovery 77.5%, concentrate with Au content 473g/t
  • Gravity table recovery 63-76%
  • Concentrate obtained by KNELSON thickener; recovery: low grade ores 40-50%, high grade ores 90%.
  • Combined gravitational-cyanidation recovery 90-95%
  • Appendix.Muruntau gold deposit in Uzbekistan is the world's largest gold deposit with production of 2Moz Au per annum. The ore reserves and resources at Muruntau (including historical production) is about 170Moz of gold. It is also world's largest open pit gold mine, The open pit measures about 3.5km by 2.5 km and extends to a depth of 350m. Ore is mined from an open pit with dimensions of about 2,500m x 3,500m, and 300m deep. Final pit depth is planned to be 650m with the mineralisation known to extend to a depth of at least 1,500m. Long term plans are to mine from underground. Gold is free milling with variable grain size and minor gold associated with sulphides, primarily arsenopyrite. Muruntau processing plant treats ore with an average head grade of 2.4 g/t Au at the rate of 2.2kt per day. The processing circuit includes a gravity circuit.
  • There are many similarities between Bobrikovo and Muruntau deposits, but mineralisation at Bobrikovo is closest to Sukhoi Log gold deposit in Russia. Mineralisation at Bobrikovo occurs at the intersection of deep fault zones controlled by NW-NNW trending anticlinal hinge and occurs as discordant and concordant quartz-carbonate veins and stockworks.
  • Sukhoi Log gold deposit mineralisation is similar structurally and in style of mineralisation to Bobrikovo deposit. Sukhoi Log's mineral reserves at a cutoff grade of 1 g/t Au are 384Mt with average grades of 2.6 g/t Au for 33Moz. Additional resources include 165Mt at 2.1 g/t which could be converted to reserves and developed into an open pit operation. 205Mt at 0.8 g/t Au sits as a low grade halo around the higher grade mineralisation.
