Purchasing shares in a company buys you part ownership of that company. You're given the right to vote on who manages the company and receive a portion of company profits through the distribution of dividends.

Example: If a share price quote is $25, then that means one share is valued at $25.

Note: Shares are also referred to as stocks, equities and securities.

CFD

Is an abbreviation for "Contract for Difference". A CFD is a 'derivative' that is derived from the underlying value of the share price. A CFD’s allow you to go long (buy the CFD) or go short (sell the CFD).

CFD's give you leverage.

Example: Buying a CFD in XYZ provides you with an opportunity to purchase the shares at a variable rates such as 10 to 1 ratio instead of the full upfront share value cost i.e. paying $1,000 instead of $10,000.

Because CFDs are traded on margin, you must maintain the minimum margin level at all times.

Note: CFD’s are not recommended for novice traders.

SRG are world leaders in permanent ground anchor design and installation having established several world records with 9 strand anchors having breaking loads of over 25,000 kilo-newtons and lengths in excess of 142 metres.

The design and installation of ground anchoring systems requires a high level of diligence. Equally vital is testing and monitoring of any anchor system both before and after it enters service. SRG has the resources to test installed ground anchors of any size for compliance with ISO standards, even in the most difficult locations.

Silo and Tank Construction

Tanks and silos represent a wide variety of containment structures, most commonly used for the storage of water, grains, bulk-solids, gases or industrial liquids.

From engineering design to the supply and installation of stressing and wall formwork systems, SRG has a strong and successful record in storage structures and the construction of silos and tanks.

Heavy Lifting

There is no real limit to the size of the load that can be lifted. As an example, they have successfully relocated a fragile, single-piece structure weighing 2,000 tonnes, we like to think that “the sky is the limit!”

At SRG, all heavy lifting projects have the same number one priority – safety. Their track record of successful lifts around the world is impeccable and they aim to keep it that way. Their achievements reflect a most rigorous process of questioning, checking and monitoring every step of the way – from the initial concept, to competent design and on-site execution. Typically, such works will involve one or more of cable-based lifting, rod-based lifting and hydraulic jacking.

Load Handling

Construction procedures involving load handling systems often result in considerable savings as compared to conventional building methods using traditional scaffolds for casting concrete or installing steel structural elements in place.

The application of load handling systems requires full consideration at the structural design stage, well in advance of detailing or construction planning. Selecting or designing the necessary temporary works and choosing the related equipment must be performed as early as possible.

SRG have extensive experience in the field of load handling and can provide all required services for design as well as supply and operation of equipment.

Slipform

SRG provide a complete slipform service and maintain experienced teams of personnel available to assist in all aspects of construction including design, planning, programming and construction techniques relating to the slipforming and formwork methods.

The slipform technique is a rapid and economical construction method that can achieve considerable cost savings when compared with the cost of conventional formwork. The slipform construction system becomes viable on regular shaped structures generally four storeys or greater in height, although multiple uses on shorter structures has been achieved economically in the past.

Advantages of using slipform construction include:

  • Greater speed and earlier completion of construction projects
  • Early completion of lift motor rooms and early installation of lifts, plumbing and electrical services
  • Reduced craneage as forms are lifted by hydraulic jacks
  • Reduced scaffolding and temporary work platforms as the slipform system contains its own platforms for working. This also results in a cleaner and less congested construction site.
  • Reduced labour costs, as the system provides an intensive work environment.
Stay Cable Systems

SRG provides strand, wire or carbon stay cables for a wide variety of structures, drawing on both local and global expertise and resources of the BBR Network.

Stay cables may be plain strand / wire unseathed for temporary applications. For permanent stay cable applications - galvanised, waxed and individually sheathed strands which are enclosed in an external sheath are adopted. Alternatively, wires enclosed in a sheath with the voids then filled with a flexible corrosion protection compound are also used.

In recent years a fatigue stress range of 200 N/mm2 for 2x106 load cycles in combination with angular rotations at the anchorages has been adapted and is now specified by most codes and recommendations. BBR stay cable systems technology has fulfilled such fatigue testing.

Bridge Maintenance

Timber and concrete bridges exist throughout Australia in various shapes and forms. All of them require maintenance and the owners of these bridges are looking for cost effective means to maintain or upgrade them.

Post-Tensioning

SRG are a leading provider of post-tensioning technology and value engineering solutions with a wealth of engineering and contracting experience obtained through the successful completion of projects throughout Australia and overseas over the last 50 years.

Post-tensioning is a method of reinforcing (strengthening) concrete or other materials with high-strength steel strands. The benefits post-tensioning brings to a structure include large open plan, column free floor spaces. The technology reduces the amount of conventional reinforcement and concrete required thus delivering a more economical and environmentally friendly solution.

They are committed to improving the standard of design and construction in the post-tensioning industry. They are a founding corporate member of the Post-Tensioning Institute of Australia Limited.

With solid expertise in construction, structural design, façade engineering and remedial services – complemented with the latest European technologies, SRG has the resources to report accurately on the issues which need investigating.

Concrete Repair

Concrete deterioration causes serious problems for many structures ranging from the smallest residential complex to large commercial buildings and civil structures.

Atmospheric and environmental conditions can impact concrete structures over time, triggering reinforcement corrosion and spalling of the outer concrete layers. If left untreated, expensive problems will usually result.

Structural Strengthening

Adding strength to an existing structure is usually a complex challenge. Whether through age, deterioration, substandard construction or change of use, it means that the present structure is no longer able to support the loads it needs to carry.

Specialist skills, design expertise, product knowledge and full-time project management are all required to ensure that strengthening works achieve design code compliance with minimal disruption to the ongoing use of the structure.

Waterproofing

Waterproofing systems are the main barrier preventing water from penetrating into buildings through roofs, walls and exposed balconies. Failure of waterproofing can lead to rapid escalation of costs, underscoring the critical role played by waterproofing in today's structures.

SRG have been installing and underwriting the performance of waterproofing systems for over 30 years. Their total independence from product suppliers guarantees that they always specify the system which best suits each project. In addition, all works are meticulously planned and supervised by professional project managers, resulting in industry leading quality standards.

Structural Crack Repair

Crack repair technology has dramatically changed in recent years providing superior protection and strength compared to previous methods.

SRG utilises epoxy resins with viscosities close to that of water to penetrate into micro-cracks as fine as five hundredths of a millimetre, re-establishing the monolithic nature of the concrete.

Façade Restoration

The function of the exterior cladding, or façade of a building structure is usually straight forward – to be attractive, durable, windproof, waterproof and dustproof. Unfortunately, many facades suffer premature deterioration to the degree that weather proofing or structural integrity is compromised.

Façade refurbishment involves determining the true causes of such problems and then applying the appropriate solutions.

Architectural Restoration

When a heritage structure is in need of rehabilitation or preventative maintenance, it is essential that the right method of repair be selected. It is also essential that the work be carried out with care and precision by highly skilled and experienced personnel.

From facades and dome roofs through to bridges and arches, they have gained valuable experience working closely with clients to use the most appropriate repair techniques to suit their structure. This is then supported by site personnel with skills in detailed plastering, pattern making, epoxy injection, rendering, bricklaying and carpentry.

Cathodic Protection

Cathodic protection systems use electrochemical techniques to control deterioration of steel or concrete. Once limited to just protecting steelwork or rebar, CP based systems now exist to address the major concrete problems of carbonation and chloride attack.

By inhibiting the electrical processes necessary for corrosion, cathodic protection prevents it from occurring. This can be achieved either by applying a low-level current to the structure or adding sacrificial anodes to it. The exciting recent developments of chloride removal and realkanisation use a similar impressed-current approach to restore a correct chemical balance to deteriorated concrete.

Specialised Services

SRG has progressively developed its capacity to undertake any manner of work for any sized project. Whether scaling the heights of Sydney Tower or verifying the strength of Warragamba Dam, you can trust SRG to perform professionally and at the highest level.

SRG has the resources and skills available from our other divisions within the group, including civil, building and mining as well as our technology partners.
